Club Night Talk: Ron Holland Yacht Designer Talk

We are delighted to announce that Ron Holland will be giving an illustrated talk on his amazing life as one of the world’s leading yacht designers.

Born in New Zealand and after an apprenticeship as a boat builder he turned his talents to yacht design first with small racing yachts winning the Quarter Ton and Half Ton Cups followed by Ted Heath’s “Morning Cloud” and many famous racing yachts and cruising yachts including the Discovery range before being the preferred designer of many of the world’s largest super yachts perhaps culminating in the largest “Mirabella V”. His output has been prodigious and not restricted to sail, he has also designed some of the world’s most luxurious motor yachts. A fascinating but modest man and a talk not to be missed. Copies of his recent book ‘All The Oceans’ will be available from the Club office.
